| Question 1: | What is the object of the game? |
| Answer 1: | The object of the game is to connect any actor or actress to any
other actor or actress in the smallest number of links
possible. Two people are said to be linked if they have been
in a movie together or have been regulars on the same TV show (we do
not use guest appearances on a TV show for a link). For example, you might wonder how President Bill Clinton can be connected to President Ronald Reagan. One answer is that: Ronald Reagan was in Young Doctors, The (1961) with Dick Clark You can try to find people who are separated by a large number of links (16 is the current record), or you can just try to connect people that you wouldn't expect to be connected (Madonna and Jerry Falwell, for example). Enjoy! |
| Question 2: | What do you mean I've entered the name incorrectly ?!? |
| Answer 2: | The program that answers queries for the
Star Links page is pretty forgiving
about how names are entered, but it can't always guess which name you mean
if you really misspell it. Here are some hints for entering names:
1) Put a comma between the last and first name and a space after the comma: 2) Enter the name exactly as it appears in the Internet Movie Database. Most people's names are what you would expect - Elvis Presley is just Presley, Elvis, but some people's entries in the IMDb are very hard to figure out - Ed Wood is Wood Jr.,Edward D. If you've followed the instructions above and the Star Links page still tells you that a name has been entered incorrectly then try searching for the name in the IMDb to make sure you are spelling and punctuating it the same way they do. |
